How We Run a Concrete Job

Every concrete job we take follows the same sequence: measure it, price it in writing, prep it properly, pour it at the right time of day, and finish it on schedule. Here is what that looks like from your side, step by step.

1. The call

You call or send the estimate form. We ask a few questions about the work, the address, and timing, then set a time to come out. Phone guesses are worthless in this trade, so we do not give them.

2. The site visit and written estimate

We measure, look at access for trucks and equipment, check drainage and existing grades, and talk through finish options. You get a written estimate with a firm scope. If we see a cheaper way to get what you want, we tell you.

3. Permits and scheduling

If the job touches the driveway approach, curb, or sidewalk inside Madera city limits, it needs a City of Madera encroachment permit. County areas like Madera Ranchos have their own rules. We handle that legwork and set a start date.

4. Demo and prep

Old concrete gets broken out and hauled off. We grade, place base rock, and compact it. This is the step bad contractors skip and the reason so much Valley concrete settles and cracks. Clay soils here shrink and swell with the seasons, and only compacted base keeps a slab stable on top of them.

5. Forms, reinforcement, pour

Forms go up, rebar is placed where the load calls for it, and we pour with a 4,000 PSI mix on residential flatwork. In summer we pour early in the morning. Concrete setting at 105 degrees does not wait for anyone, so we stack the crew and get the finish done right.

6. Finishing, joints, and cure

Broom, salt, or stamped finish goes down. Control joints get cut the same day so future cracking lands in the joints instead of across the slab. We walk you through curing: no foot traffic for a day or two, no vehicles for seven days on a driveway.

7. Cleanup and walkthrough

Forms come off, the site gets cleaned up, and we walk the finished work with you. You keep our number. If something is not right, we come back and make it right.
